Carbiotix (publ) ("Carbiotix" or "Company") today announces that the Company has commenced the installation of the first CarbiAXOS production line at FoodHills in Bjuv, Sweden. Following the complete renovation of the production hall over a roughly 6-month period to meet Company specifications, the site was handed over to Carbiotix. The Company will now focus on getting the first 10-ton CarbiAXOS production line installed in the coming months, along with setting up routines with its local spray drying partner.
Kristofer Cook, CEO of Carbiotix, comments
"I am very pleased to communicate that we have reached the key milestone of taking over the fully renovated production hall from FoodHills after a roughly 6-month complete renovation by PEAB. This production hall is located in the old research and development facility of Findus and thus has a rich history of innovation sitting in its walls. We will now commence the installation of the first 10-ton CarbiAXOS production line with our external engineering partner and should have everything in place in the coming months. During this period, we will also set up key routines with our local spray drying partner to ensure that the entire process from receiving materials to packaging final product for sample & sale runs smoothly.
This is very exciting news for the company as it marks the beginning of several areas. More specifically we are now able to provide samples for customers, ramp up sales, and accelerate research and development activities with regards to broadening our portfolio of prebiotic ingredients and products across different modulator classes. I look forward to the start of production and planned expansion of this first site to up to 100 tons of production capacity starting already in 2022. As things progress, we will hire site operators and other production personnel to ensure that our production and expansion activities are efficiently ramped up both locally and eventually abroad.
I would like to send a special thanks and congratulations to the entire team at Carbiotix for their efforts to date. Taking the step from the lab to pilot and full-scale production is not easy and thus we should be proud of our accomplishments to date. We will of course build on our success and commit ourselves to accelerate our activities across the organization using this first production site as a key catalyst for innovation & growth.”
