How the NutraCycle service works

The NutraCycle service is divided into three distinct phases which include a pre-study, joint development phase and service support. The first two phases have been designed to cost-effectively evaluate the potential of a side-stream product to be upcycled and used to fortify products or be sold off-site. The NutraCycle service focuses on AI assisted product and value driven process development based on Carbiotix IP and trade secret, aiming at supporting the R&D, innovations, product formulation, and business development functions of companies.

Pre-study

The pre-study is divided into a no-cost laboratory development step and low-cost pilot scale verification step. The purpose of the pre-study is to develop a process that optimises the extraction of prebiotics and other active ingredients for a target application ie. to be used in either an existing or new product or sold off-site as an ingredient.

Joint development

The joint development phase includes process design & financial modelling, product formulation & safety work, and technology & partner sourcing. At the completion of the joint development phase, a decision is taken whether to move forward with the installation of a NutraCycle process based upon a complete business case.

Service support

Once a NutraCycle process is operational, Carbiotix switches focus to supporting the operation of a site. Support includes efforts to continually optimise a process, assist with the formulation of new products, provide continued guidance with regards to scientific claims and regulatory issues, and leverage key partners to ensure a profitable process.
