Carbiotix reorganises management team and Board to accelerate growth

Jan 24, 2023, 08:45

Carbiotix (publ) ("Carbiotix" or "Company") announces today that the Company will reorganise its management team and Board in conjunction with the Annual General Meeting (“AGM”) on the 21st of April to accelerate growth. Chairman of the Board Jonas Danielsson and co-founder Peter Falck will step down as Board members. Kristofer Cook will step down as CEO and is proposed to become Chairman of the Board and continue to support the Company in the areas of sales and business development. COO Erik Deaner will become the new CEO of Carbiotix. Replacements for Jonas Danielsson and Peter Falck on the Board will be announced in conjunction with the invitation to the AGM distributed at the end of March.

The current Chairman of the Board Jonas Danielsson will step down as a Board member due to conflicts with a new operational role he will be starting at a different company. Carbiotix co-founder Peter Falck has decided to step down as a Board member due to time limitations as a result of other start-up projects and a realisation that the Company has entered a commercialisation phase where extensive industrial experience is needed on the Board. Kristofer Cook will step down as CEO and follow a long-term plan to become Chairman of Board, while continuing to support Carbiotix in the areas of sales and business development. COO Erik Deaner will follow a succession plan and take on the role of CEO, also retaining his responsibilities as COO.

Kristofer Cook, CEO of Carbiotix, comments
"I am happy to announce the reorganisation of the management team and Board at Carbiotix in conjunction with the upcoming AGM in April. The current management team roles and Board have served us well over the past two years during the scale up of our modulator and diagnostic technologies. As we now ramp up commercial activities, we will need a greater focus on sales, business development and industrial experience, which we intend to achieve with the planned reorganisation. With a greater focus on customer interaction within the management team and having access to key industrial experience on the Board, we will be in a better position to accelerate our growth in the coming years.

After having recruited Erik Deaner less than two years ago, I have seen how he has grown into the role of COO and shortly CEO. I have full faith in his abilities to operate as a successful CEO and will support him both as the proposed Chairman of the Board and operationally working with sales and business development. The departure of Jonas Danielsson and Peter Falck from the Board is one that I see as bitter-sweet. While I clearly see the need to further strengthen the industrial experience on the Board from the food, supplement and pharma industries and the benefits that will come as a result, I am also so very grateful for the support that I have received from Jonas and Peter. Jonas has been an exemplary Chairman, providing the right support at the right times, and always being highly professional in everything he does. I will be forever grateful for his contributions and look forward to keeping close contact with him going forward. Peter is of course my co-founder at Carbiotix, and I have worked closely with him over the past eight years, initially on an operational basis during his tenure as CSO and later as only a Board member and key advisor. I also look forward to keeping close contact with Peter going forward as an advisor and shareholder of the Company.”
