We are happy to announce that we finally launched NutraCycle Formulation Lab service. A service designed for food & beverage Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) companies that do not process—or have limited processing of—plant-based materials, but are seeking broad access to complex, low-cost upcycled soluble fibers, proteins, and other bioactive ingredients. The service aims to support the development and accelerated launch of healthier and more sustainable processed food & beverage products.
After conducting over 50 NutraCycle projects across more than 65 plant-based side-streams from over 20 countries, we have built a diverse portfolio of upcycled ingredients. While some customers can integrate these ingredients directly into their products, many food & beverage CPG companies lack access to these upcycled ingredients.
The NutraCycle Formulation Lab service addresses this need by enabling access to these ingredients and supporting formulation and sourcing through innovative co-investment opportunities.

So what is the NutraCycle service and onsite upcycling all about?
In short, it’s about creating healthier more profitable and sustainable products by extracting soluble fibers (prebiotics), proteins, and other active ingredients from any hemicellulose plant-based side-stream – right on site! The material that is extracted can then be used to fortify new or existing products or sold off-site for a higher value than simply sending the side-stream to feed, landfill or biogas production. Any insoluble fractions that are left can be used to produce biobased packaging or bioenergy, thus utilizing up to 100% of your incoming raw material. This makes a lot of sense!
